I’ve never been very interested in surface-level answers, especially when it comes to health. I tend to notice patterns, ask questions that linger, and pay attention when something doesn’t quite add up.
That way of thinking showed up early and followed me into adulthood.
I constantly wondered why does one person adapt well under stress while another slowly wears down? Why does a plan that works beautifully for one body barely register for another? Why do some people do “everything right” and still feel depleted, reactive, or stuck?
Those questions are what eventually pulled me into this work.
My path into acupuncture and holistic medicine began as a personal one. Like many of the people I now work with, I spent years trying to understand my own health through diets, supplements, and different approaches that promised clarity but rarely delivered lasting change. What I learned along the way was simple, but reshaped everything for me: health is not about finding the right fix. It’s about understanding how a system is functioning, adapting, and protecting itself over time.
Bodies are intelligent. They compensate. They conserve energy. They find ways to get through stress, even when those adaptations eventually become limiting. When resilience has been stretched too thin, more effort isn’t always the answer.
That understanding is what led me, later in life, to formally train in both Eastern and Western approaches to medicine. Not to collect techniques, but to better understand how energy, regulation, and resilience are built, lost, and restored. Chinese medicine gave language to what I had already been observing: that health depends on flow, capacity, and the body’s ability to respond, not just endure.
This work allowed me to rebuild my own resilience and trust my body again. It allowed me to support my body through mold illness later in life. More importantly, it taught me how to support others in a way that feels steady, respectful, and sustainable. I don’t believe in pushing bodies harder or chasing symptoms endlessly. I believe in supporting the system so it can do its job more effectively.
In a world full of conflicting health advice and quick solutions, my role isn’t to tell you what should work. It’s to help you understand what your body has been dealing with, how it’s been adapting, and what kind of support will actually allow energy and resilience to return.
If you’re here because you’ve tried before and still don’t feel like yourself, you’re not behind. And you’re not broken.
If you feel aligned with this approach, I offer individualized care grounded in regulation, resilience, and respect for the body’s pace.
With care and gratitude,
Dr. Julie
